THEO RAUCHER

Theo Raucher was born in 1931 in Valbert, Rhineland into an artistic family. Theo’s father, grandfather and brother were established artists and each greatly influenced young Theo.

Raucher studied at the Wuppertal Art School under the famous Austrian artist Etbauer. Study trips brought him to northern France, Brittany and Normandy and provided him with the inspiration and subject matter for his scenic landscapes.

Raucher’s favorite subjects are rural German villages and his impressionistic treatment of the canvas possesses a consistently bold yet refined quality. Since Raucher’s arrival in the United States, his work has been extremely well received and sought by galleries and collectors alike.
