BIOGRAPHY
Places near and far take on new perspectives in the captivating and imaginative works of Cory Bonnet. His pallet centers primarily on landscapes, cityscapes and structures that beg to be viewed and studied. Those familiar with the locations of his images will find their memories embedded within his impressionistic/ expressionistic style, while those who have yet to visit these places will feel the urge to pack their bags.

Cory was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and found his talent and passion for art at an early age. He received his Bachelor’s degree in 1998 from Edinboro University in northwestern Pennsylvania with a major in art and a minor in history. During his college years, he traveled throughout the United States and following graduation spent eight weeks in Europe where he studied and sketched the masters in London, Paris, Lisbon, Madrid, Barcelona and Amsterdam.

Upon his return in the early autumn of 1999, he immediately began painting scenes from
his European trip, as well as from his travels in California, New York and Pennsylvania. He especially likes capturing the landmarks and atmosphere of his native city, Pittsburgh. In his own words Cory states,

In 2001, Cory had two of his pieces accepted in the Westmoreland (PA) Arts Nationals. He has also been featured in the Shadyside Arts Festival in 2005, and successfully completed his first one-man showing entitled “Visions of Pittsburgh” at Artspace 303, sponsored by the Steel Valley Arts Council in June of 2006.

In addition to his works selling in private and corporate collections, Cory has traditionally lent his talents to benefit select charities throughout the western Pennsylvania area.

Cory and his wife, Jessica, currently resides in the western suburbs of Pittsburgh.
STATION SQUARE
“Growing up in the Pittsburgh area, I have always appreciated the inherent beauty of the city and its surrounding neighborhoods. My latest series “Visions of Pittsburgh” is a reflection of the optimism and beauty I see in my hometown. As an artist, my work continues to evolve, and although the subject matter spans the globe, my work always comes home to Pittsburgh.”
